Various Positions is the seventh studio album by Leonard Cohen, released in December 1984.

This album signalled Leonard Cohen's embrace of a contemporary sound, incorporating synthesizers prominently, especially evident in the opening track. Additionally, following Jennifer Warnes' harmonies and backing vocals on the preceding Recent Songs, she makes an even more significant contribution, receiving equal credit to Cohen as a vocalist on all tracks.
